Oh Sailor! I did not plan on this boy originally. I am not one to make impulse goat purchases. However, I had admired this boy when his breeder had posted him as her keeper a few months earlier, and I was going on a transport trip through PA where they lived when she decided to list him. I contacted Joanna with some questions, and found they were only 20 minutes off our route! I'm SO excited about this buck!! He is absolutely STUNNING with excellent milk production and butterfat behind him. Both his parents are originally from Foggy Fork Farm who focuses on animals that thrive on low maintenance (a trait that I have come to value highly!). Sailor's dam, "Darlin" was on the MDGA top ten list in 2023. She is a beautiful doe with great dairy strength, a long, lean neck, wide, flat rump and great milk production. She is higher percentage Nubian and has incredible breed character. Sailor's sire, (also called 'Sailor') has done amazing things in Samantha Barton's herd (Foggy Fork Farm) and she has freshened many incredible daughters of his who have lovely udders that are improved over their dams. I'm super excited to use this gorgeous boy and see if he can keep up with his sire in producing incredible kids! Sailor has excellent width, a level and flat rump, long body, beautiful feet and legs and INCREDIBLE breed character! His personality is spectacular - calm and super sweet.
